Constructions in as many as 12 unauthorised residential layouts that had been developed with out permission from the competent authorities had been demolished in a demolition drive carried out by the employees of the Hubballi Dharwad City Growth Authority (HDUDA) on Friday.
Chairman of HDUDANagesh Kalaburagi stated the officers had recognized 36 unauthorised layouts for demolition. Though the format builders had been issued notices twice, they failed to answer the notices and so it was determined to conduct the drive, he stated.
Within the drive that began early within the morning on the Hosa Yellapur and Hebballi Highway stretch, boundary stones, drains, electrical energy poles and different constructions had been demolished within the 12 unauthorised layouts. Though there was resistance from a number of land homeowners, the authorities carried out the drive below police safety.
