Hailing from Puri, Odisha, and currently residing in Bhubaneswar, the capital city of the state, Abinash Mohanty, 25, is an educator and writer who has gone through a plethora of ups and downs. If a chain nuclear fission could be ever compared to anyone’s life, his would be a perfect fit to it.
Problems have been an inevitable part of his life, problems have never been done with him, but, with time, his approach to them, has changed. This is an inspiring story of a young man, who in his mid-twenties, amidst infinite hurdles, has turned his dream into reality.Having lost his parents at a very young age, he beautifully blends the harsh realities of life in his writings. He has co-authored more than 15 anthologies, has crafted more than 700 quotes, more than 10 national and state championships in Oratory and writing skills, along with a short story to his name.
He has also been awarded with the UTKALA YOUTH ICON AWARD and has been ranked 1ST in the list of INDIA’S TOP 10 MOST ENTHUSIASTIC WRITERS. He is an open-mic artist as well. Currently, he awaits the launch of his debut novel THE DIVINE VENGEANCE. When asked as to what writing meant to him, he answered without a second thought,” WRITING, STEPPED INTO MY LIFE, AS MY ETERNAL SOULMATE, WHILE I WAS WANDERING LIKE A NOMAD, TRYING TO FIGURE OUT THE PURPOSE OF MY LIFE AND THE PURPOSE TO LIVE.” Abinash is a graduate in Computer Science and a post-graduate in Political Science. Currently, he is an undergraduate of law as well.
Teaching found him back in 2013 when he was just 16 years old. Back then, he was an ICSE topper. He is an alumnus of Blessed Sacrament High School, Puri.He secured 95% in the board examinations. Back then, he wanted to join the Indian Army after clearing the UPSC NDA examinations. But destiny had different plans altogether. Right after his admission into, SCS Junior College, Puri, his father, who was a tax consultant by profession, went missing. That is exactly, when his world was turned upside down. He had always been his Dad’s lad.
He not only had his best buddy in him, but his father was also an inspiration to him. He always wanted to become like his Dad. When asked about his Dad, he responded with a shaky tone and rheumy eyes,” I NEVER TALK OPENLY ABOUT THIS. IT’S A MALIGNANT PAIN THAT I HAVE BEEN CARRYING FOR ALMOSST A DECADE NOW. I JUST KEEP PRAYING AND HOPING, THAT HE RETURNS SOMEDAY.”His mother, though highly qualified on an educational level, yet was physically and mentally unstable.
So, young Abinash decided to take up the responsibility of managing the household all by him. He started giving private tuitions to the students of the same school where he matriculated. His teaching style was unique as he personally had himself tuitioned very less.In addition to that, his job was nothing less than God to him. Soon, he started becoming a known face in the arena of Educators in Puri. When he took up admission in Computer Science Honours in SCS Autonomous College, he started his own coaching centre, THE REFRACTORS. It remained active till 2018, only when he had to close it owing to his joiningof PRABHUSHREE ENGLISH MEDIUM SCHOOL, as a teacher right after his graduation. He had barely completed a month when the final sorrow, of his life stepped in the weirdest way.His mother, Late Arati Mohanty was diagnosed with deadly triple-negative breast carcinoma, fighting with which she passed away in just 6 months. During these 6 months, he lost all his tuition as he wasn’t able to give time. But then he took up a couple of newer ones after his mother’s death, but alongside that, he also started preparing for the UPSC CSE.
He was a student leader and the President of the Students’ Union of SCS Autonomous College.Due to this, he had a huge friends circle, though that actually helped him a lot during his mother’s illness, yet he knew that he could not focus that way, and needed an urgent change in air. So, he shifted to Bhubaneswar, the capital city of Odisha. Not even half a month of his arrival was complete, and the scary and terribly horrifying saga of lockdowns and shutdowns started which made it difficult for him to find a square meal.He remembers how his helplessness compelled him to work as a domestic helper and a part time cook. He remembers managing with pakhala (water-soaked rice) and raw onions for days. And, this was exactly, the time when his associativity with writing, kept on increasing with a rapid pace. He found an oasis in writing, for his Life, that was already a desert. And since then, there was never a U-Turn in this journey. He started writing one-liners, quotes, shayaris and poems. At this point, he had just been an admirer of some of the great works of the best selling authors of the country. But he was a true critique as well. As nicely he enjoyed the beauty of those works, he also found some gaps as a reader.
He had always been a true believer of the fact that ,” CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME. BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE!”. So, a year before, he decided that he was going to start the outline of the novel. But he couldn’t find a satisfying better half to his story. And strange enough, he reveals that he dreamt his other half of his story,” THE BEST DREAM OF MY LIFE.” As one of our journalist opines, having gone through the pre-order of THE DIVINE VENGEANCE,” A SUSPENSE-THRILLER IN A WHOLE NEW AVATAR, THAT IS NOTHING SHORT OF A DELIGHT TO THE READER!” Many dream, few transform it into reality through their patience, hustle , grind , pain , perseverance and tears. As this young dreamer is all set to begin a new journey, we extend our best wishes.
