During his two-day visit to Germany, Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent a few specialised gifts to the leaders of the Group of Seven, including a Gulabi Meenakari brooch, cufflinks, black pottery, a platinum-painted hand-painted tea set, and a Zari Zardozi box. PM Modi brought special presents for all the leaders created under the UP one district, one product scheme and was the most senior global leader in attendance at the G7 summit. He has already accepted invitations to three G7 summits, demonstrating India’s significance in the larger scheme of things.
PM Modi gifted US President Joe Biden Gulabi Meenakari brooch, a piece of pure silver which is moulded into a base form, and the chosen design is embossed in the metal. It is a GI tagged art-form of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh.
French President Emmanuel Macron received a carrier box crafted in Lucknow. The Zari Zardozi box was hand embroidered on khadi silk and satin tissue in the three colours of the French National Flag, which has its origin in the French Revolution. The box included Attar Mitti – a unique attar produced in UP’s Kannauj – Jasmine Oil, Attar Shamama, Attar Gulab, Exotic Musk, and Garam Masala.
Prime Minister Modi gave British Prime Minister Boris Johnson a platinum-painted, hand-painted tea set from the Bulandhshahr area. In honour of Queen Elizabeth’s platinum jubilee, which is being observed this year, the tableware has been outlined with platinum metal paint, according to the Prime Minister’s Office.
PM gave a nickel-coated and hand-engraved brass vessel from Moradabad, the Peetal Nagari or “brass city” of Uttar Pradesh, India, to German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
