Indra Kumar’s ‘Thank God’ is an upcoming family entertainer film which stars Ajay Devgn, Sidharth Malhotra and Rakul Preet Singh in the lead role.
The education minister for Madhya Pradesh, Vishvas Sarang, has urged Anurag Thakur, the minister of information and broadcasting, to forbid the release of the upcoming movie “Thank God,” starring Ajay Devgn and Sidharth Malhotra. In a letter to Thakur, Sarang said that the movie shows Chitragupta, a Hindu goddess who, according to a myth, travels with Yama, the god of death, in an unfair way.
Sarang says that “over the past few years, many Bollywood performers and filmmakers have added obscene images and made insulting comments about Hindu gods.”
The minister claimed that Chitragupta is depicted as being surrounded by “half-naked” ladies in the recently released trailer and that Devgn has made offensive statements on his behalf.
“There is a lot of animosity in the entire Hindu society along with the Kayastha society due to the unpleasant words made by the hero of the film, Ajay Devgan,” he said.
The minister said, “It is desired that you kindly provide instructions to immediately suspend the telecast of the said film in order to avoid offending the sensibilities of the entire Kayastha/Hindu society.”
The Ministry of Communication and Media has not yet released an official statement.
A Hindu legend holds that Chitragupta was given the responsibility of punishing or praising people based on their deeds.
The lead actors in the upcoming family-friendly comedy “Thank God” are Ajay Devgn, Sidharth Malhotra, and Rakul Preet Singh.
Sidharth Malhotra plays a regular guy who gets into an accident and ends up in a place between life and death, where he meets Chirtagupta (played by Ajay Devgn). Chitragupta plays a game with Sidharth Malhotra that he calls the “Game of Life.”
The audience responded favourably to the trailer and the first song, “Manike,” which the creators just debuted.
While Sidharth and Rakul will appear as a new acting duo in this movie, Rakul has previously worked with Ajay Devgn in the films “De De Pyaar De” and “Runway 34.” This year’s release date for the movie is October 25.
