Whether it was Sushmita Sen, Madhuri Dixit, or Raveena Tandon, various actresses from the 1990s are now making their OTT debuts and coming back to the big screen. Urmila Matondkar most recently made the list. The actress from Ek Haseena Thi (2004) is getting ready to make a comeback with the thriller series Tiwari. In the show, which is being produced by Content Engineers and is being directed by Saurabh Varma, Urmila will play the title role. Although few specifics regarding its plot have been made public to date, it is believed that the show will centre on a mother-daughter team. According to reports, the show is now in pre-production.
The first look poster for Urmila from the show, which shows her in an untamed and fierce avatar, was revealed on Monday. She is seen wiping her lips while gazing directly at the camera. The programme appears to be a treat for fans of action from the poster as well. The poster’s wording declares that a woman will be the last man standing this time.
“This one gave me characters, a story arc, and things I hadn’t tried before that were tough for me as a performer. A group of young writers worked together to compose and create the story, and they succeeded in keeping my attention throughout the narration. The aspect of the story that I found most endearing is that, while at its heart, it is an emotional mother-daughter tale, it also contains drama, action, and some exhilarating twists and turns. Speaking about the show, Urmila expressed her excitement for the next shoot.
The director, Saurabh Varma, continued, “We really couldn’t think of anyone else than Urmila to play the sort of diverse graph Tiwari, aka Urmila’s character, had in the show. As a company and as a filmmaker, our goal is to produce family-friendly entertainment for audiences around the world. All age groups have praised Tiwari as a script, and it is completely appropriate.
Tiwari’s release date hasn’t been made public yet.
