Batting icons Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma hailed David Miller for his lone warrior act against Team India in the 2nd T20I on Sunday.
After Team India, with Suryakumar Yadav, humiliated South Africa in the second T20I of the three-match series on Sunday, batting legends Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma praised David Miller’s lone warrior performance. At the Barsapara Cricket Stadium, half-centuries from opener KL Rahul and captain Suryakumar helped Team India defeat the Proteas in a historic series victory. In the high-scoring encounter at Guwahati, Miller put up a spectacular comeback for the Proteas, while Rahul, Kohli, and Suryakumar produced game-changing blows for India. The South African southpaw scored an undefeated century, but his efforts at the plate were for nothing when South Africa lost the series finale at Guwahati by 16 runs.
The Indian captain, Rohit, and previous captain Kohli were quick to praise Miller’s batting prowess after the Gujarat Titans (GT) player batted brilliantly against Team India in the second T20I.
Miller was praised by Rohit and Kohli in a video posted by the BCCI on social media for his outstanding performance against Team India in a video posted by the BCCI on social media.”David Miller is being praised from all angles. The BCCI captioned its picture, “But #TeamIndia wins the second #INDvSA T20I to establish an unbeatable lead in the series.”
In the just finished T20I match between the two nations, Miller hit 106 off 47 balls against India. Quinton de Kock, who had scored 69 runs off of 48 balls and was still unbeaten, assisted the Proteas hitter. De Kock and Miller’s spectacular 174-run partnership is the biggest run-stand for the fourth wicket in T20I cricket history. The Proteas reached 221-3 in 20 overs thanks to Miller’s batting masterpiece. Miller made history by being the first batsman in the game’s shortest format to record two hundreds while batting at No. 5.
“India immediately put us under strain despite the excellent wicket. We had to move on from ball one, and the freedom let us be creative. It has been a little rainy here (humidity). I simply drank as much water as I could,” Miller claimed following the game.
