Iran Anti-Hijab Protests: Last month, Iran said it had arrested nine European nationals for their role in unrest over Mahsa Amini’s death.
Iran’s foreign ministry spokesperson said on Monday, amid ongoing protests over a woman’s death in police custody that Tehran has blamed on “foreign adversaries,” that visitors from other countries should follow the Islamic Republic’s rules. Iran announced last month that nine people from Europe had been detained for their part in the disturbances following Mahsa Amini’s passing.
“Iran is a secure nation. When foreigners travel or conduct business in Iran, we want them to adhere to our rules, “Nasser Kaanani, a spokesperson for the foreign ministry, stated at a live press conference.
