Zuckerberg criticises Apple and asserts that their virtual reality technology will be “worse.”

Zuckerberg cautioned that if Apple exerts the same control over the headgear as it does over devices like the Mac and iPhone, it will hurt competing VR systems. If they notice this rivalry in the future, he continued, it’s highly likely that they will try to hinder us. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg made fun of Apple’s “closed” system by claiming that Meta’s virtual reality platform, in contrast, is “meant to be ‘open’ for anyone.” 
In an interview with The Verge, he said that even though Apple’s closed ecosystem has won in mobile, we need to make sure that the open ecosystem wins again in the next generation of computers. 
According to the CEO of the digital giant, there has always been both an open and a closed ecosystem in the world of computing. Closed ecosystems prioritise integration and strict control in order to create unique experiences and lock in. Even so, over time, the platform ends up receiving the majority of that value. He showed his point by making a comparison between Windows and macOS, as well as between Android and iOS. 
In response to a question about Apple’s mixed reality headset during the interview, Zuckerberg said Apple would hurt rival VR systems if it exerted the same control over the headgear as it does over devices like the Mac and iPhone. If they notice this rivalry in the future, he continued, it’s highly likely that they will try to hinder us. Also, it’s become very clear that their reasons for doing what they did were not as selfless as they said they were. 
A high-end virtual reality headgear has been unveiled by Meta with the hope that users will soon use it for both work and play in the still-mysterious “metaverse.” 
He named partners like Microsoft, Autodesk, and Accenture that are making software for Meta’s open platform. 
In an earlier interview, Zuckerberg said he would be open to working with other companies who are creating VR headsets. He stressed the need to work with companies like Samsung “at the proper time” and added that we’ll need to figure out exactly how it would work.
