Terrorists opened fire on the man, a Kashmiri Pandit, as he walked to an orchard in Shopian’s Choudhary Gund.
Terrorists killed a civilian in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district on Saturday, according to police. Terrorists opened fire on the victim, identified as Puran Krishan Bhat, a Kashmiri Pandit, as he was walking to the orchard at Choudhary Gund in Shopian. Bhat was rushed to the hospital for treatment, where he died as a result of his injuries.

The area has been cordoned off. “A search is currently underway,” Kashmir Zone Police issued a tweet.
Security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a search for the perpetrators.
According to the Kashmiri Pandit Sangarsh Samiti (KPSS), the killing was intended to send a message to the Union Home Minister that “everything is not fine” in Kashmir. KPSS president Sanjay Tickoo says that authorities are putting pressure on the victim’s family to have the funeral as soon as possible so that things can get back to normal in the Valley.
