My journey in this fascinating world full of uncertainties has been very enriching and the experiences shaped me into a strong and an optimistic individual. I will always be grateful for the precious blessings of my parents and late grandparents for guiding me to be a finance professional, a budding entrepreneur and successful writer that I am today.
I started my journey from the fields of Chartered Accountancy and Company Secretaryship, however I couldn’t see myself pursuing it for the long term. I always wanted to be independent and explore avenues which provide a platform to exploit my potential to the fullest even if it meant walking an untrodden path. I was always a risk taker and believed that, to change my fortunes I need to do something I have never done before.
The hunger to build my own identity pushed me towards the journey of entrepreneurship which was the turning point of my life. I felt a sense of fulfilment, excitement to grow and live a life with a purpose. Although this step brought up a lot of questions and judgements from family and friends like “WHY DO U NEED TO WORK SO HARD??, YOU DON’T HAVE TIME FOR FRIENDS AND FAMILY ANYMORE? I always maintained that I want to live my life with a purpose and leave behind a legacy for my future generations. I have always been ambitious and wanted to work very hard to pursue my dreams but the right way to grow bigger was to work smart. I have learnt that what differentiates the top 1% from the others is the ṀINDSET and RIGHT ATTITUDE and realised that is something I need to incorporate in myself. I am blessed to be guided by the best people who pushed me towards being limitless and to embrace abundance in life. My entrepreneurship journey taught me that in order to fly, I have to give up the illusion of security and step off the edge. Having the freedom to choose to do what I love to do and start living my life of choices helped me shape myself into a more determined, focussed and most importantly a HAPPY person.
My hunger for diversification led me to pursue my journey into SAP Finance simultaneously. With the changing requirements in the IT and Finance industry, I decided to venture onto this path as well but I was clueless as to how to proceed. “COMETH THE HOUR COMETH THE MAN” goes a saying and indeed, how true it is!! At this juncture, I happened to connect with Dr. Chary, a family friend of ours, who expressed that he was in the process of rewriting and updating his published book on management science and that he was looking for someone to help him include case studies pertaining to application of SAP modules to Accounts and Finance. I couldn’t believe my luck when I was asked if I was prepared to co-author the book with him. I quickly regathered my scattered wits and mumbled YES!!! Our book titled” Digitalization of Business Processes – A Systems Approach” has since been published by a leading publishing house. My co-author, Dr Chary became my patronizing mentor who taught me the nuances of systems approach and inspired me to give my 100 percent. Being a finance professional, it was never easy to understand the systems engineering concepts but with perseverance and under the guidance of my Guru Dr. Chary, I managed to grasp the concepts and applied it to my specialized areas of finance and accounts in the form of case studies in our book. Lot of brainstorming and constant words of encouragement like “I know you can do it Beta” by Dr Chary pushed me to surpass my own mental limitations. I feel very lucky and blessed to have got this fantastic opportunity at such an early stage of my career.
In the past many ERP implementations have gone wrong because of the communication gap between the client organization and the implementing organization while preparing the specifications for the business processes to be re-engineered, mainly due to the absence of any standard method or procedure. This book is about a systems approach based method of describing business processes in a clear and unambiguous manner so that both the client organization and the implementing organization are on the same page and the ERP implementation is done to the complete satisfaction of all parties. The examples and case studies presented in the book are based on Artificial Intelligence/ Machine Learning and allied techniques as applied to business processes. The book is now available on different platforms and has a global circulation in more than five continents. It, being an eye opener, IS A MUST READ BOOK for Corporate CEOs, CFOs, CTOs, and all IT, Finance, Management, ERP Professionals as well as students.
Being an SAP FICO Consultant and having worked in organization having ERP software implemented systems, I wanted to highlight and plug the possible loopholes in the solution via case study method of implementing the financial accounting concepts using the systems approach. This should help the organization to get better clarity to streamline the systems and business processes in an uncomplicated manner.
This opportunity opened up multiple avenues, winning for us rave book-reviews, offers for writing more books in collaboration, and accolades and awards galore for me. I am open and excited to explore many possibilities to write many more books and expand my horizon.
I was always a seeker to explore opportunities that shall enable me to push my boundaries, be a limitless achiever, leave a mark worldwide, receive abundant wealth and give back multifold to the society and mankind. And today sharing my journey through this article makes me feel super blessed and happy to be able to reach out to millions with one message, “Limits exist only in the Mind”. Cheers!!!
