Raimohan Parida, a well-known jatra artist and actor in Odia films who is known for his negative performances, was tragically found dead on Friday.
Initial reports state that Parida committed suicide. It is still unknown why the actor took his own life via suicide.
Raimohan Parida, who was born on July 10, 1963, has appeared in more than 100 Odia and Bengali movies. He received praise for his performances in films like Mental (2014), Singha Bahini (1998), and Suna Bhauja (1994), among others.
Siddhant Mahapatra, a well-known actor who costarred with Raimohan in multiple films, expressed shock over the latter’s passing by saying, “It is hard to believe such an actor, who has faced several ups and downs in life, can think of doing anything like this when he was quite successful.”
Mahapatra claimed that he had last seen Raimohan and his family at a celebration last week. “Raimohan and I got along well, and he asked me all about my family. Raimohan didn’t appear to be depressed during our talk.
Mahapatra said that Raimohan had worked hard and even stayed in rented accommodation. “What led him to driving something like this is unbelievable,” he added.
Raimohan’s neighbour said, “We had met him yesterday and he appeared quite normal. We cannot believe that Raimohan, who is loved by all, is no more.”
